THE GOLDEN JUBILEE of Borrisokane’s SS Peter and Paul Church will be celebrated on Sunday 22nd October at the 10.30am Mass, led by Bishop Fintan. All are welcome.

VOCATIONS: Killaloe Diocese Launches a year – long Vocations Initiative.

The ‘Year for Vocations to the Diocesan Priesthood’, runs until Good Shepherd Sunday in April 2024.

 

UNIVERSAL SYNOD ON SYNODALITY takes place 4 – 29 October in Rome, on the theme: ‘For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, Mission’.  For the very first, it will historically involve lay people being a full part of the process.  We pray for the success of the Synod.

 

TIDY TOWNS SUCCESS – Congratulation and well done to the Terryglass Tidy Towns committee and all the volunteers who work so hard to keep our village looking so beautiful.  All their hard work was rewarded with a Silver medal and an increase of 9 points in this year’s National Tidy Towns Competition.

 

KILBARRON TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY – OCTOBER TALK –Mr Jim O’Brien, ‘From the Súgán to the Smartphone’

Jim O’Brien is a freelance writer and columnist. Some people will be familiar with Jim’s articles because for the last thirteen years Jim has worked as property correspondent with the Farming Independent and since 2017 has been writing a weekly column for the paper. He is well placed to keep a finger on the pulse of rural Ireland  and we look forward to Jim’s talk on Friday  night.

They would like to thank all who donated monies and who brought cakes etc on the day. Thanks to the great generosity of people a total of €1500 was raised for Milford Hospice.
