THE LATE JOHN DWYER
The death has occurred of John Dwyer, Rathcabbin Nursing Home and Cloninaha, Ballinderry. Removal took place from Rathcabbin Nursing Home on Wednesday morning to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Terryglass and after Requiem Mass interment took place in the adjoining cemetery. John was in his late 80’s and died after prolonged ill health, he was always a hardworking man and had worked in Gorthalougha, Ballinderry, for many years. Sympathy is extended to his sons Marty,Tommy and Johnny, daughters Mary, Francis, Betty and Carmel, sisters Lizzie and Anne and brother Con, daughters and sons in law, grandchildren, relatives and friends

21ST BIRTHDAY
Birthday greetings are extended to Eimear McLoughney, Kilgarvan, who recently celebrated her 21st, birthday with family and friends in Hannigans, Kilbarron. We wish her well for the future.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS
Birthday greetings are extended to Josie Carroll, Coolbawn, who celebrates her 86th birthday on Friday 2nd February. We wish her many more years of health and happiness.

TIPPERARY GAA MEMBERS DRAW WINNERS
Congratulations are extended to Timmy Tierney on winning the first prize in the January draw and also to Damien Horan and Oliver Darcy on their wins. The presentation of the prizes will take place in Paddy’s Bar, Terryglass this Friday 3rd February.

KILBARRON DRAMA GROUP
The drama group have begun rehearsals for this year’s production of ‘Many Happy Returns’ by Bernard Farrell. The two act comedy features a few of our long serving members along with some new faces and will be directed by Marian  Frawley.
Performances are planned for March 16th, 17th and 18th.

COMEDY IN RATHCABBIN
Rathcabbin Players will stage the popular and well known Ray Cooney’s comedy “Tom, Dick and Harry” in Rathcabbin Hall from Friday February 3rd to Sunday 5th. A play not to be missed, so you are advised to book early on 087 2360096, between 5.30-8.30pm. COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is – ‘Out and About (2)’. If travelling by car keep doors locked and be alert when parking and getting out of your car. On public transport sit as close to the driver as possible. Keep wallets and purses out of sight, handbags and shoulder bags should be kept close to the body.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Kilbarron and departs from Terryglass at 6.45pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly

SHANNON RANGERS FC
All games cancelled last Sunday due to the weather conditions.
Don’t forget training in the complex in Borrisokane each Wednesday at 8pm. As always all players are asked to attend and new players are always welcome.

CHURCH NEWS
The Feast of St. Bridget is Wednesday 1st February, the Presentation of Our Lord Thursday 2nd and the Feast of St. Blaise Friday 3rd. Masses in Terryglass are Thursday 9am with Blessing of Candles and Friday 7.30pm with Blessing of Throats, in Kilbarron on Wednesday at 7.30pm with Blessing of Candles and on Friday at 9am with Blessing of Throats. Candles for altar use in our churches or donations will be very welcome. Extra blessed candles will be available to take home if anyone wishes to do so.
Friday 3rd February is the First Friday and Mass is in Kilbarron at 9am and Terryglass at 7.30pm with Benediction at 7.20pm. Confession is available before both Masses.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOC.
On Monday 13th February the club will go to Paddys Terryglass for a three course meal with a menu choice of either beef or salmon for your main course or sponge pudding or trifle for dessert. The meal will follow with an afternoon of music and dancing with Seanie.
The yearly membership fee of €6 is now due.
