BALLINDERRY SPORTSFIELD AGM
Ballinderry Sportsfield Committee will hold its annual general meeting in the Pavilion at 8.30 this Wednesday night, 7th December. A big crowd is anticipated as we have a fantastic parish owned facility that we should be proud of.

DEATH
The death occurred on Saturday 26th November of Thomas Heenen, Main St. Borrisokane and formerly Cloninaha, Ballinderry. Sympathy is extended to his nephew Tom Heenan, Cloninaha and members of the Heenan family.

TERRYGLASS ICA
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 14th December. Please note change of date. Hostesses for the night are Bridie Cahalan and Mary Quirke.

KILBARRON OLD SCHOOL WINTER PROGRAMME
The final class is ‘Festive Flower Arranging’ (Una Caulfield) on Wednesday 14th December from 8-9.30pm. Pre-booking is essential as spaces are limited. A fee of €5 applies, to book please contact Margaret O’Brien 087 2772545

COME AND MEET SANTA
Come and meet Santa on Friday 16th December from 6.30-9pm in Kilbarron Hall. Games and Disco for Under 12’s and admission is €2 per child.

COMMUNITY ALERT
Firstly can we all keep an eye on our elderly neighbours now that the weather is getting colder and enquire if there is anything they need.
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is- do not carry large amounts of valuables and cash in your bag. Don’t wear too much jewellery or valuables on your person. Spread your valuables i.e. your house keys in your bag, your mobile phone in your jacket and your cash in your trouser pocket.

KILBARRON OLD CEMETERY
The annual subscriptions for Kilbarron Old Cemetery are now due and may be paid to Christy Cormican or Mick Molamphy.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Kilbarron and departs from Terryglass at 6.45pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly.

SHANNON RANGERS FC
The reds go marching on, Rangers recorded their 4th win on the trot last Sunday vs Rearcross in the league in Ballinderry. After a slow start on a wet day Rangers netted 3 in the second half to seal the win, with goals from Padraig O’Meara and a great free kick from Brian Hourigan, then Darrell Carroll blasted home near the end to take all 3 points. Thanks to all the players who turned up on such a bad day.
Training continues every Wednesday night in the complex, Borrisokane at 8pm sharp. It is important that all players attend and as ever new players are more than welcome.
Don’t forget our Christmas Night Out on Saturday 17th December in Elsie’s.

CHURCH NEWS
Masses for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception are as follows; Kilbarron on Wednesday night at 7.30 and in Terryglass on Thursday morning at 9.30. The Eucharistic Congress Collection will be taken up at both Masses.

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOC.
The annual Christmas Party will take place this Monday 12th December at 1pm, in the Church of Ireland Hall, Borrisokane, with a hot meal catered by local man, Michael Carroll, followed by music from Rita and Margaret and Seanie. Santa is likely to pay us a visit with a gift for everyone. The subsidized cost is €10 so give your name and menu choice (Turkey and Ham or Salmon) or for further information to Gordon Bennett 067 22964, Loretta Tiernan 28066 or Jimmy Donnelly 38237.
