LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT
Our next outing is on Monday 17th August to The Thatched Cottage for a three course meal at 1pm, followed by an afternoon of music, song and dance. The menu choice is Lamb, Turkey and Ham or Salmon, desserts trifle or crumble. The subsidized cost is €10 and names and menu choice to Jimmy Donnelly 067 38237 or Loretta Tiernan 28066.

RELAY FOR LIFE
The village of Toomevara will host Tipperary Relay for Life event in the local GAA Ground from 3pm on August 15 to 3pm on August 16. Relay for Life is a 24 hour community celebration which honours all those affected by cancer and a novel fundraising event aimed at raising much needed funds for the Irish Cancer Society. Please join your local team, The Kilbarron Red Devils, in Toomevara to Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back in the battle against Cancer from 3pm on August 15th.
Candles of Hope are now available locally, costing just €5 each. If you would like to light a candle in memory a loved one who has died, or celebrate the life of someone who has survived cancer please contact Hannigans, Kilbarron, McDermott’s Pharmacy, Borrisokane and Marcella McKenna.

CHURCH NEWS
Baptisms
We welcome Oisin Brendan Burke and Jamie Conor Leenane into our Christian community. Oisin is the son of Brendan and Deirdre Burke, Portumna and he was baptised in Kilbarron recently. Jamie is the son of Conor and Valenda Leenane, Ballinderry and he was baptised in Terryglass recently.
FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF OUR LADY – Mass in Terryglass at 10am on Saturday August 15th.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION is now taking place each Wednesday in Kilbarron Church from 10am to 3pm, and 7pm to 8pm. All are welcome to drop in during these hours to say a quiet prayer.

TERRYGLASS ARTS FESTIVAL
The festival is on 13th to 16th August with a great array of workshops and events, including the Paddy Casey concert in the Church on Friday night, the fireworks on Saturday night and the family day on Sunday 16th. See programme for full list of events.

Church Gate Collection

The Irish Heart Foundation Annual Church gate collection will take place Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th 2015. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
