CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations are extended to Cliodhina Heenan, Terryglass, who came 1st in the Under 15 Fiddle at the recent County Fleadh, and we wish her continued success with her music.
Congratulations are extended to Cillian Dunne, Kilbarron, who won gold in the Boys 100 m wheelchair event at the All Ireland Schools Championships, continued success Cillian.

TERRYGLASS/KILBARRON PIONEER ASSOC.
A Pioneer Mass and Presentation Night will take place in Terryglass Church on Saturday 30th June at 8pm. Anyone eligible for Silver, 40th, Gold or 60th awards please contact any member of the Pioneer Council as soon as possible. People wishing to enrol as Pioneers are very welcome to contact us also, Joan Tiernan 067 28026, Aileen Cahalan 22058.

ART EXHIBITION
Birr Art Group is holding an exhibition in The Heritage Centre, Nenagh from the 7th June for a month. Local artists Bryan and Patricia O’Donnell, Ballyscalon, Coolbawn, are among the exhibitors, and a visit is recommended.

OVER 60’S CLUB
The Terryglass/Kilbarron Over 60’s Club is planning a day out to Galway on Wednesday 11th July. There will be shopping in the city centre, then a three course meal in ‘The Galleon’ Salthill and if people would like to pay another visit to the Royal Tara Worksop please let the following  know, Loretta Tiernan 067 28066, Mary Prout  22172. Monie Hogan 22103. The subsidized cost is €10.

DIGITAL SWITCHOVER
A community effort is being made to inform people who might not otherwise make the switch to digital TV before the switchover deadline of 24th October.
If you get your TV through a Pay-TV provider over satellite or cable e.g. Sky or UPC you are OK.
If your TV is through an aerial, you need one of the following:
(1) Get Saorview- either get a Saorview approved set-top box (one-off cost about €70+, or get a Saorview approved new TV, one-off cost of about €120+ for a small TV. You can install it yourself or get a friend or TV installer to help. You still need your aerial, very few people need to get a new one. In some cases that aerial may need to be pointed in the right direction. If so get a local TV installer to do this
(2) Get Pay-TV with a monthly bill from about €25 from a provider such as Sky, UPC etc. They install

TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENTS ASSOC.
The weekly ‘working nights’ meet in the village square at 7.30pm each Tuesday, volunteers are always welcome. Everyone is working hard with planting, grass cutting and hedge trimming always needing to be done to keep the village looking well. Again everyone is asked to be vigilant regarding discarded litter.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- Preventing thefts of farm machinery. (1) Store your tools and smaller machinery in secure buildings close to the farmhouse. Photograph machinery and tools, keep a record of serial numbers and colours. Mark the property with a unique identifiable mark in both obvious and secret locations. (2) Restrict access to your farmyard, install gates and fix them to sturdy concrete or metal posts. Keep them locked and consider appropriate signing such as ‘Private Property’. (3) Consider installing CCTV in vulnerable areas out of view of the farmhouse. Install good lighting and illuminate areas viewed from the house by CCTV.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Coolbawn, Ballinderry and Terryglass to the Saturday 8pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Kilbarron at 7.15pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly

CHURCH NEWS
The Annual Parish Novena to the Sacred Heart continues in Kilbarron Church on Wednesday 13th June 7-7.45pm, before Mass and Thursday 14th June 8-8.45pm and in Terryglass Church Friday 15th June, the Feast of the Sacred Heart, Mass at 8pm with Novena prayers at the end of Mass.
The Novena will consist of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and during that time there will be rosary and novena prayers, . All are welcome to drop in any time, even for just a short visit.
Cemetery Masses will take place in Kilbarron on Wednesday 27th June and in Terryglass on Friday 6th July both at 8pm. This is an opportunity for people to come, remember and pray for those who have died. Please contact families from outside the parish who have relatives or friends buried in our cemeteries.
