COOLBAWN MAN HONOURED
James ‘Boysie’ Moore, Coolbawn was awarded the rank of Knight (Chevalier) of The Ordre National de la Legion d’Honneur at a ceremony at Glasnevin on Sunday November 13th 2016, in the presence of Mr. Jean-Marc Todeschini, French Secretary of State. The Legion d’Honneur is France’s highest recognition and honour. Boysie was one of 3 men honoured for their bravery during the landings in Normandy in 1944. Congratulations Boysie, we are all so proud of you and this great recognition.

TERRYGLASS CELEBRATIONS
Terryglass Improvements Association will be hosting a Celebration for the achievements of Terryglass Village winning this year’s all Ireland “2016 Best Kept Village Award” and the “2016 Tidy Towns Competition” Gold and Silver status.
All Residents of Terryglass, Terryglass Business Owners, and families are cordially invited to attend the Celebration in Terryglass Hall on 18th November 2016 starting at 8pm. Light refreshments will be served during the evening.

CAMOGIE CLUB AGM
The Camogie Club AGM for 2016 takes place on Friday November 18th at 8.30pm in Ballinderry Sportsfield Pavillion. We look forward to seeing a lot of parents at the meeting. A NEW BOOK
‘Lorrha People in the Great War’ by Gerard O’Meara of Lorrha will be launched in Lorrha at 8.30pm the Lorrha-Dorrha GAA Clubhouse for Saturday , 19th November. The Australian Ambassador to Ireland, HE Mr. Richard Andrews, has agreed to launch the book. The experiences of several people from Kilbarron/Terryglass who had connections with Lorrha are also detailed in the book.

CHUCKLES THE CLOWN STAGE SHOW
Kilbarron Hall Committee present the hugely popular ‘Chuckles the Clown’ with his all new stage show for 2016, including clowns, laser light, music, jugglers, the dare devil fire eater and much more. Suitable for all ages, great fun for all the family. Admission is €5 per person, you can bring your own sweets etc. Friday, November 18th, Showtime 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Doors open at 6pm. Please come early as a large crowd is expected.

TERRYGLASS CEMETERY AGM
The AGM of Terryglass Cemetery takes place on Thursday 24th November in Terryglass Hall at 8.30pm. All are welcome to attend. Any outstanding maintenance fees for 2016 would be appreciated in advance of the meeting to the Treasurer, John Mulvihill.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Christmas Dinner for members of the Historical Society will be held in O’Keefe’s Country Home, Firmount, Carrigahorig on Saturday November 26th from 7.30pm. The cost will be €25 per person for a three course meal. Full payment to any member of the committee by November 12th 2016 please.

PUCKANE AND CARRIG DRAMA
The Puckane and Carrig Drama Group presents ‘The Banshee of Crokey Hill’ in Ballycommon Hall on Friday November 25th, Saturday November 26th and Sunday November 27th. Parental discretion advised for very young children.

RACE NIGHT
Kilbaron N.S. Parents Association are holding a Race Night in Hannigans on Saturday December 3rd as a fund raiser for the local school. Race horses may be purchased from Claire 086 3488438 or Siobhan 087 6986054. Join us from 9pm if you fancy a flutter and stay for the music later in the evening.

MIKE DENVER IN CONCERT
Shannon Rovers GAA club present Mike Denver in concert in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh on Wednesday 14th December. Doors open at 7.30 with the show to start at 8.00. Admission is €25. KILBARRON OLD CEMETERY
Subscriptions for maintenance of Kilbarron Old Cemetery are now due and can be paid to Christy Cormican or Mike Molamphy.

KILBARRON WALKERS
Now that the longer evenings are here why not come out and get a bit of exercise. The walkers will meet at 8pm in the village carpark. We intend walking 5 evenings per week, so come along any evening that suits you. Walkers of all ages and fitness levels welcome, just bring your hi-viz and a flashlamp. In addition to the walking, the local Tidy Towns committee have arranged a weekly weigh-in in Hannigans every Wednesday night after 9pm. This is an ideal opportunity to monitor your weight and blood pressure and see the benefits of the extra exercise – why not come along and join in. With only ten weeks to Christmas, you will be delighted with the new you!
WEEKLY WEIGH-IN Kilbarron Tidy Towns committee have organised a weekly weigh-in every Wednesday night after 9pm in Hannigans. Weight and blood pressure measured to monitor your progress.

CHURCH NEWS
NOVEMBER STATION MASSES:
TERRYGLASS – Sat. Nov. 19th – 7.30pm
KILBARRON – Sun. Nov. 20th – 10am.
During the Station Masses we will give thanks for the harvest and for God’s blessings.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues in Kilbarron Church every Wednesday from 10am to 3pm and 6.30pm to 7.20pm. We invite all parishioners to drop in for a short while during that time to sit in the presence of Jesus.

SMALL COINS
Knigh United Girls Soccer club are collecting 1c and 2c coins . If you have any small coins lying around that you would be willing to donate, please contact Marcella at 087 6879502, or in Puckane to Trish at 087 6127478.

USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
Start collecting your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped to Kilbarron school any Friday from now on. If you need to have your bags collected please contact Siobhan at 087 6986054.

BINGO
There is Bingoo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,500. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
