COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is on ‘Heating Oil and Diesel Theft’. The noticeable increase in the theft of diesel and home heating oil should be of concern, most tanks are generally unprotected, unobserved and very easily accessed, which leads to stolen oil supplies. It is preferable that the tank is in an area which may be observed by the household or neighbour. It may be screened by hedging, trellis or lighting. Consider installing a motion sensor or sensor lights in the area. Ensure there is a lock on the tank.
