KILBARRON TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Kilbarron Terryglass Historical Society in conjunction with the Centre for Irish Cultural Heritage in NUI Maynooth are pleased to host Dr. Eoin Grogan who will give a talk on ‘Metalworking in Prehistoric Ireland’ in Terryglass Hall on Friday Aprill 22nd from 11.30am. This will be followed by an historical and archaeological tour of Terryglass village. Dr. Grogan will be accompanied by a number of his students from NUI Maynooth however members of the public are invited to attend the talk and tour on the day.

Sunday April 24th will see the laying of the wreath in honour of 1916 at the remembrance tree along the little wood trail in Terryglass after 10am Mass. In the afternoon there is a trip to the Thomas MacDonagh heritage centre in Cloughjordan, to be there by 2.30pm. People to make their own way there. Afterwards there is an option to visit KnockNaCree woods. If interested please forward your name to a member of the Society.

TERRYGLASS CEMETERY

KILBARRON TIDY TOWNS
Work evenings every Monday and Thursday, commencing on Mon. April 18th. Meet in the car-park at 7pm. All help welcome.
Our annual ‘Spring Clean / Litter Pick’ will take place in the coming weeks once the weather warms up a little.

NORTH TIPP. ALZHEIMER SOCIETY
There will be a meeting of our Support Group in our Office at 3a, Ormond Court, Summerhill, Nenagh on Wednesday 27th April at 11am Families and/or carers of people with Dementia/Alzheimers are invited to come along and receive information and support and also meet other carers, have a chat and a “cuppa”. We are also holding our annual “Tea Day” on Thursday 5th. May from 11am. – 2pm. in our Office in Summerhill, Nenagh. All are welcome to come along and support our work in endeavouring to keep people with Dementia/Alzheimers in their own home for as long as possible with the help of our professional carers.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION
The Irish Cancer Society will hold their annual church gate collection at both Masses this weekend, April 23rd and 24th. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

KILBARRON N.S. USED CLOTHING COLLECTION

The Parent’s Association of Kilbarron N.S. is organizing a clothing collection as part of this year’s fundraising events. They are looking for your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped to the school any Friday or if you need collection please contact Siobhan at 087 6986054..

SMALL COINS
Knigh United Girls Soccer club are collecting 1c and 2c coins . If you have any small coins lying around that you would be willing to donate, please contact Marcella at 087 6879502.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100. Buses are available from the surrounding area i.e. Nenagh/Ardcroney/ Borrisokane/BallinderryandBallingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/ Terryglass.
