HOLY COMMUNION
Congratulations to the four children of Kilbarron who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion last Sunday from Fr. Michael in Kilbarron Church. It was a beautiful and memorable service with musical accompaniment of the highest standard. Congratulations to Laura Cleary, Megan Dunne, Siobhan Slattery and Jake Gleeson.

CHARITY JUMBLE SALE
There will be a Charity Jumble Sale over the June bank-holiday weekend Sat 2nd/Sun 3rd June in Terryglass Community Hall. Opening times are 10am until 6pm on both days. All donations of saleable items would be most welcome e.g. bric-a-brac, clothing, books, toys, plants etc. Your generous support would be greatly appreciated and help for the event is always welcome, please contact Joan Molly 087 9654746 or Mary McGeeney 067 22164 for further information.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Dolores Fox, Terryglass, on the recent death of her mother Bernadette Silke, Eyrecourt, Co. Galway.

TERRYGLASS ICA
The monthly meeting of Terryglass ICA Guild took place in Terryglass Community Hall on Wednesday 2nd May. Votes of sympathy were passed with all families who had bereavements since our last meeting and a minutes silence was observed. The annual fees were paid at the meeting and the raffle was won by Mary Quirke.
Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday 6th June at 8pm. Hostesses for the night are Bridie Cahalan and Mary Quirke.

ALZHEIMERS TEA PARTY
The organisers of the recent Alzheimers Tea Party would like to thank all who attended the event and all who contributed so generously, a total of €671 was raised. This money will be spent in Nth. Tipp. to support Alzheimers patients.

THANK YOU
The organisers of the recent Church Gate Collection in aid of the Irish Cancer Society would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who supported the collection, a total of €1055 was raised.

FIRST AID, DEFIBRILLATOR AND MANUAL HANDLING TRAINING DAYS
One day workshops in First Aid, Defibrillator and Manual Handling will be held in May/June in Terryglass. These are for anybody who would be in the village for the summer and willing to help in an emergency. The workshops provide an opportunity for a valuable training and are 100% funded by Leader Partnership. However, applicants will be expected to pay a booking fee of €30, which will be fully refunded on the completion of the day’s workshop. Spaces will be strictly limited; enquiries and application forms telephone/text 086 4114225.
The Terryglass Improvements Association is sincerely grateful to Leader Partnership funding for the opportunity it is affording the residents.

SHANNON ROVERS GOLFING SOCIETY

TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENTS ASSOC.
The weekly ‘working nights’ meet in the village square at 7.30pm each Tuesday and everyone’s help would be appreciated in helping to prepare the village for the upcoming Tidy Towns Competition.

TESCO 4 KIDS
Shannon Rovers Camogie Club are collecting Tesco 4 Kids Vouchers for sports equipment. All vouchers are very welcome and can be given to Grainne Fogarty or Marcella McKenna.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- In one in three burglaries, entry is through the front door. Almost a quarter of burglaries take place between 12pm and 4pm, with Thursdays and Fridays the most likely day for a burglary to take place, so stay vigilant.
Over one third of our road deaths occur over the summer months, so please be aware and use our roads safely at all times.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Coolbawn, Ballinderry and Terryglass to the Saturday 8pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Kilbarron at 7.15pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly

CHURCH NEWS
To mark the significance of the International Eucharistic Congress event in Ireland this year, you are invited to a special local celebration on Friday 1st June at 8pm in Borrisokane Church. This celebration will involve people from the seven parishes of our Cois Deigre cluster and we urge as many as possible to use this special celebration as an opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist together as a faith community and to pray for one another and in particular for our young people who will begin exams the following week.
Choir members from all areas of our parish are invited to attend a special choir practice with choir members from the other parishes on Monday 28th May at 8pm in Borrisokane Church.

SHANNON RANGERS FC
The club will hold the annual general meeting this Friday, 25th May, at 8.30pm sharp in the Pavilion, Ballinderry. It is important that all players and committee attend as important issues will be decided on the night, including the possible start up of schoolboy teams. So anyone interested in helping out the team are welcome.
