HOLY COMMUNION
Congratulations to the eight children of Terryglass, Meabh Calalan, Aoibhinn Kirwin, Kelan Ducie, Michael Fogarty, Matthew Hardy, Aodan Kirwin, Conor Mahon and Eoin Quinlan who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion last Sunday from Fr. Michael. The whole ceremony was of the highest standard with beautiful accompanying harmonies. Well done to all involved.

KILBARRON 200
The bi-centenary of Kilbarron Church will be celebrated over the weekend 13-15th June with an exciting and entertaining selection of events. On Friday 13th June there will be a musical evening with James Kilbane in Kilbarron Church at 8pm. Tickets are €10 each in aid of a defibrillator for the village and are available from Parish Pastoral Council members or phone 087 1704422 . On Saturday 14th there is an Historical Walk starting at 2pm from Kilbarron village, followed by a presentation in the Old School Hall on the history and events in the parish down through the years, followed by refreshments. To end the day there will be dancing at the Crossroads at 9pm until midnight, music by Brendan McGrath. On Sunday 15th Mass is in Kilbarron Church at 2pm celebrated by Bishop Kieran O’Reilly. Barbecue in the village from 3.30pm, music and entertainment provided by Brendan McGrath and local musicians and dancers
Next meeting is this Wednesday 21st May at 8.30pm in the Old School Hall.

ICA
The monthly meeting of Terryglass ICA Guild took place on Wednesday 7th May in Terryglass Community Hall. Votes of sympathy were passed with the family of Teresa Burchill, formerly Terryglass, the Fox family on the death of Billy Fox and with Nora O’Donoghue on the death of her brother Jimmy Clifford, Killoscully. A minutes silence was observed.
The Guest Speaker was Nurse Joanne Burke who gave a most informative talk on Diabetes and blood pressure. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday 11th June and the hostess for the night is Geradine Wisdom.

ROVERS GOLFING SOCIETY
The next outing of the Rovers Golfing Society is on Saturday 31st May at Roscrea Golf Club. Tee time is 10-11am.

TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENTS ASSOC.
Terryglass Improvements Assoc. would welcome any helpers to join its evening ‘Spring Clean’. Participants meet in the village square every Tuesday at 7pm and everyone is welcome.

KILBARRON DEVELOPMENT
If you can spare time on a Tuesday evening please come along to the village around 7pm, all help would be much appreciated in preparing the village for the forthcoming competition.

GOOD WISHES
Our good wishes are extended to the children of Kilbarron who will receive their First Holy Communion this Sunday 25th May in Kilbarron Church at 11am. We wish them and their families a very special day.

USED CLOTHING COLLECTION
Please start collecting your used clothing, shoes, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys (any condition once they are clean). Bags may be dropped into Kilbarron School any Friday from now on, until collection date, June 5th. If you need to have your bags collected please contact Carmel Fox on 087 6359492.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The Tip of the Week is- In one out of three burglaries entry is through the front door. Almost a quarter of burglaries take place between mid-day and 4pm, with Thursdays and Fridays the most likely day for a burglary to take place, so be vigilant.
Over a third of road deaths occur over the summer months, so please be aware and use our roads safely at all times.

CHURCH NEWS
Please note that Saturday 24th May, Mass is at 8pm is in Terryglass and the Communion Mass on Sunday 25th May is in Kilbarron at 11am.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 for a line and two lines respectively and full houses now range from €50, €70, €100 and €120. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 .
