CONFIRMATION
Congratulations to the fifteen children of Kilbarron and Terryglass who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last Sunday in Kilbarron Church from Bishop Kieran O’Reilly. The recipients were Emma Boyle, Carmel Ducie, Ciara Moran, Lauren Mulvihill. Teresa O’Meara, Kyle Kennedy, Cathal O’Meara, James O’Sullivan,  Ciara Brannigan, Tegan Craig, Jasmin Curran, Maeve Hogan, Roisin Kirwin, Mathew Haugh and Conor Ryan. We wish them all the very best for the future.
Congratulations to everyone involved in making the whole event such a memorable occasion.

GOLDEN WEDDING
Congratulations are extended to PJ and Angeline Starr, Terryglass, who recently celebrated fifty years of marriage. We wish them many more years of health and happiness.

SHANNON ROVERS GOLFING SOCIETY
The first outing of 2012 for the Rovers Golfing Society took place in Roscrea last Saturday and the results are as follows: 1st Pauric Cahalan, 2nd Pat Quinlan, Gross Odhran Ducie, 3rd Michael Tierney, front nine Liam Horan and back nine Pat O’Meara.
The next outing is on Saturday 26th May to Nenagh Golf Course.

TESCO 4 KIDS
Shannon Rovers Camogie Club are collecting Tesco 4 Kids Vouchers for sports equipment. All vouchers are very welcome and can be given to Grainne Fogarty or Marcella McKenna.

SHANNON RANGERS FC
A date for your diary! Shannon Rangers are holding their end of season awards night this Saturday night, 5th May, in Elsies, Ballinderry, music by The Freshmen. On the night we have our ‘Player of the Year ‘ award, along with other awards. So come along for a great night out with the ‘Mighty Rangers’

KILBARRON DRAMA GROUP

ALZHEIMER’S TEA DAY
The Alzheimer’s Tea Day will be held this Thursday 3rd May and you are invited to a ‘cup of tea and chat’ to help raise money for people with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia, in Aileen Cahalan’s, Curnamult, Terryglass, from 7pm onwards. Every euro raised at our party will go to the continuation of services in Nth. Tipperary. All are most welcome.

TERRYGLASS ICA
Our next meeting will take place this Wednesday 2nd May at 8pm and the annual fees are due at the meeting. Hostesses for the night are Annette Cahalan and Nora O’Donoghue.

PILATES CLASSES
Pilates classes continue on Wednesday nights in the Pavilion, Ballinderry. Payment nightly. Beginners welcome.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- When out walking or cycling it is important to be seen. Vulnerable road users are pedestrians, motor cyclists, young children and older people. Reflective jackets should be worn at all times.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Coolbawn, Ballinderry and Terryglass to the Saturday 8pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Kilbarron at 7.15pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly

CHURCH NEWS
The First Friday is this Friday 1st May and Mass is in Terryglass at 9am and in Kilbarron at 8pm proceeded by Adoration at 7pm and Benediction at 7.50pm

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOC.
To celebrate the Bealtaine Festival 2012 the club is holding a Tea Dance in the Church of Ireland Hall, Borrisokane on Monday 14th May from 2-4.20pm. All members are welcome to come and enjoy an afternoon of dancing and music with Seanie and refreshments will be served, cost €2.
You are also invited to avail of the events in the Clarke  Memorial Hall , Niall De Burca on May 3rd at 8pm, May 20th the film ‘Last Chance Harvey’ at 8pm and May 23rd at 11.30am Carnation Theatre present ‘Circus’
Invites have also been received from the Cloughjordan Cine Club Film Tour to attend its screening of ‘My House in Umbria’ at 8pm on May 16th, ‘Last Chance Harvey’ at 8pm on May 20th and on May 30th at 8pm ‘An American in Paris’.
