RED CROSS COLLECTION
The Nenagh branch of the Irish Red Cross will hold a Church Gate Collection at all Masses in Terryglass and Kilbarron this weekend, Saturday 8th/Sunday 9th September.
The money collected goes to maintain our ambulances and training of members of the Red Cross, so we can continue to provide services to the public on a voluntary basis. Well done to all who recently completed the First Aid Course and CPR Community Course.
Your generosity will be much appreciated.

RAMBLING HOUSE
The Rambling House will now take place on the first Thursday of each month, commencing this Thursday 6th September. So come along and join us in Una’s Tearoom, Riverun from 8-10pm , bring your stories, song and dance or just come along and listen. There will be a ‘Special Guest’ on each of the nights and a ‘cupan tae’, all for free. For further information contact Mairead on 086 4114225

JUMBLE SALE
As the autumn season approaches our thoughts turn to the annual Halloween Jumble Sale. Any useful items in good condition , such as bric-a-brac, books, toys, plants, pictures etc. are very valuable sources to make the event a success. It will be held over the Halloween bank-holiday weekend in Terryglass Community Hall. All proceeds will go to a worthy charity. For further information please contact Mary McGeeney 067 22164.

SHANNON RANGERS FC
Shannon Rangers played its first game against Borrisokane last Sunday in Ballinderry and came away with a 0-0 draw. Both sides had their chances but a draw was a fair result on the day. Thanks to the lads for a great turnout. Players don’t forget the €45 membership due. U/13 and U/16 training takes place every Saturday morning in Ballinderry at 11am, new players welcome

TERRYGLASS ICA
The first meeting of the Terryglass ICA Guild after the summer break takes place this Wednesday 5th September, at 8pm in Terryglass Community Hall.

GYMNASTIC TRAINING
Midlands Artistic Gymnastics Club will re-commence training, after the summer break, in Lorrha GAA sports complex from Tuesday 11th September, times and ages as follows: Children aged 5 to 7 years from 5-6.30pm, children from 8years plus from 6.30-8pm every Tuesday and Thursday. Also every Saturday for 5-7years from 11am to 12.30pm and for 8 years plus from 12.30-2.00pm . Coaching by experienced Russian Gymnast who resides in Rathcabbin. COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’- is on Safety on Campus, with students preparing to return to college and some leaving home for the first time.
Avoid situations where you are travelling alone at night time, when travelling on foot use busy routes and well lit walkways. Don’t display obvious valuables e.g. jewellery, handbags etc. Always take care when using ATMs. When socialising don’t leave open drinks unattended even for a short period. Don’t leave property unattended in libraries, lecture theatres, rest/changing rooms. If you think you are being followed go to the nearest place where there are other people, contact the Gardai. If you are assaulted help is available to you from the Gardai 24 hours a day. Remember no mobile phone credit is needed to make a 999/112 emergency call. In your accommodation lock front and back doors at all times, if leaving check windows are locked. Take care letting in callers, ask for identification if in doubt. Take special care of valuables i.e. laptops, Ipods, mobile phones. Use your door chain and always lock outside doors. If you receive strange or abusive phone calls contact the Gardai/Campus Security

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Coolbawn, Ballinderry and Terryglass to the Saturday 8pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Kilbarron at 7.15pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 083 4007748 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly

LOWER ORMOND ACTIVE RETIREMEMT ASSOC
The Lower Ormond group will be dinning out in The Derg, Terryglass, on Monday September 24th.  There will be a three course meal at 1.30pm with a choice of roast beef or sea trout, followed by the house speciality cherry trifle or rice pudding. The subsidized cost is just €10. There will be music and dancing afterwards with everyone’s favourite Seanie Gleeson. Names should be given with your meal choice to one of the following: Jimmy Donnelly, Loretta Tiernan, Phyllis O’Meara, Sam Wilson.
On Monday October 8th we will be holding our annual Bric-a-Brac Sale in the Church of Ireland Hall, Borrisokane, and any donations of suitable items will be welcome.
