THE LATE PATRICK FLANNERY
The death of Patrick Flannery, Shanbally, Terryglass, occurred on Tuesday 29th January . Removal took place from Bushy Park Nursing Home on Thursday morning to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Terryglass and after Funeral Mass interment took place in the adjoining cemetery. Paddy  was a quiet and amiable man who was a respected member of the farming community. He was predeceased by his brothers Paul, Sean and Mike and sister Mary. Sympathy is extended to his sister Kathleen, sister-in-law Joan, nephew John, niece Lorraine, relatives, neighbours and friends.

MAGICAL NIGHT OF A THOUSAND CANDLES
The Derg, Terryglass will once again celebrate St. Valentine’s with its ‘Magical Night of a Thousand Candles’ on Thursday 14th February, Friday 15th February and Saturday 16th February. SHANNON RANGERS FC
The weekend started off with the u/13’s on Saturday in Nenagh v’s Nenagh (b), but the home team proved too strong for our boys who lost on a score of 5-0, hard luck lads. Then the u/16’s had the short trip to Ballinderry to face Lough Derg on Saturday afternoon, but were on the end of a 7-2 defeat to the visitors. On Sunday the junior team game against Lough Derg (a) in the Tipperary Cup was called off again due to the Lough Derg pitch being unplayable.

KILBARRON NS
Kilbarron NS Parent’s Council will host celebrity chef Nevin Maguire’s cookery demonstration in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, on Tuesday 26th February. Tickets are €25 and available from Carmel Fox 087 6359492,  Hannigan’s, Kilbarron and McDermott’s Pharmacy, Borrisokane.

SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Tony Esmonde, Coolbawn, on the recent death of his sister Ann Esmonde, Gorey. Sympathy is also extended to Jimmy Heenan, his wife and family on the tragic death of their son Noel last week. Jimmy had worked on the FAS Scheme in Terryglass for a time.

WELCOME
We welcome into our parish Rachel and Lucy Fogarty and Sean Costello, who were recently baptised.

COMMUNITY ALERT
The ‘Tip of the Week’ is- People still continue to receive phone calls from people asking details of their personal accounts. Once again we strongly advise you never to give any personal details to callers who you have not positively verified. Just put the phone down as these calls are usually from outside countries with numbers that look like our mobile numbers.

FAMILY FUN WALK
There will be a Family Fun Walk this Sunday 10th February, leaving Hannigan’s at 3pm. It is a 3 mile walk suitable for all family members and all are welcome. Refreshments in Kilbarron Old School Hall afterwards.

BINGO
There is Bingo every Monday in Terryglass Community Hall at 8.30pm sharp organised by the Shannon Rovers GAA Club with great money prizes, including an excellent Jackpot of €1,000. Contact Oliver Darcy for further information. The prizes are excellent with €15, €20 and €50 for a line, two lines and a full house respectively. There is a flyer for €150 each week and the full house if the jackpot isn’t won is €100.
Buses are available from the surrounding area,i.e.Nenagh/Ardcroney/Borrisokane/Ballinderry and Ballingarry/Rathcabbin/Lorrha/Carrigahorig/Terryglass. Buses depart at 7pm and for further information contact Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988.

RURAL TRANSPORT
A bus is available to take parishioners from Terryglass, Ballinderry and Coolbawn to the Saturday 7.30pm Mass in Terryglass and departs from Terryglass at 6.50pm.  For further information or to book a place please contact Loretta Tiernan 067 28066 or Mary Tierney 28167
The bus to Nenagh each Thursday departs Paddy’s, Terryglass at 10am, Ballinderry 10.10, Coolbawn (Molamphy’s) 10.20 arriving in Nenagh at 11am. The bus returns from Nenagh at 2.10pm .We urge you to consider availing of these services, which are free to Travel Pass holders. The bus operator is Ken Daly 087 6273177 or 067 21988 or if you require more information on any route please contact Louise 067 27088. A bus travels each Friday from Nenagh via Borrisokane and Ballingarry to Bingo in Birr.
A bus also travels to Borrisokane each Monday departing from Terryglass around 1pm, via Ballinderry, Coolbawn and Carney Commons and arrives at 2pm and departs for home at 4pm. Services are door to door and booking can be made by contacting Ken Daly
